The cirque of the Seven Rila Lakes is one of the most popular natural landmarks in the Bulgarian mountains. This lake group is located in Damga Ridge of the Northwest Rila at an altitude between 2100 and 2500 m. From bottom to top, the lakes are The Lower Lake, The Fish Lake, The Trefoil, The Twin, The Kidney
On August 6th, the Orthodox Church celebrates the great Feast of Transfiguration of Our Lord. According to the beliefs, on this day Jesus Christ transformed before his three apostles, Peter, James, and John, to show them his heavenly glory. On Mount Tabor in Galilee, he appeared to them in a transformed form – his face glowed and his clothes gleamed.
Starting from this autumn, eight former Bulgarian rulers will welcome the guests of Hotel Simona Complex. The permanent exhibition called “Guests from the Past” is masterfully painted on the walls of the hotel’s first floor, as a reminder of the country’s glorious history. The artworks depict 14 stories of Bulgaria’s development – from Khan Kubrat, through the Golden Century
